South West Trading Company has developed a full line of alternative fibers. Alternative to what? Wool! If you are allergic to wool, don't like the feel of most wool yarns, or simply want to explore the world of unique fibers, South West Trading Company yarns is a good place to start! a-MAIZ-ing yarn is made from 100% Corn Fiber. Therapi yarn is made from jade & other minerals. The popular gemstone jade is used in developing Bowlder fiber, also called "Jadeite". Bowlder is designed with a honeycomb structure that allows the fiber to be comfortable in all weather, anti-bacterial & resistant to pilling & fuzzing. Therapi absorbs & wicks away moisture from your skin. TOFUtsies yarn is sock yarn made from soysilk and even "chitin" -- material from the shells of crabs and shrimp! We currently have the "Limited Edition Power Stripes" version of TOFUtsies available, while supplies last. Xie is a 100% Bamboo weavers 10/2 weight yarn suitable for laceweight projects.
